Role Purpose:
The Team Leader in Shipping is responsible for the overview of all functions relating to shipping materials and finished product and ensuring the department is running smoothly and meeting any deadlines in place.
Timing:
Afternoons- 2:30pm- 11:00pm
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Schedules couriers, maintains shipping records, including tracking and shipping history information.
• Operates and/or delegates off/on-load products utilizing available walkies, forklifts etc.
• Responsible for shipping area warehouse management and inventory control.
• Provides leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour.
• Establishes, maintains and promotes high standards of customer service.
• Liaises with customers, truck drivers, production, supervisors, and warehouse personnel.
• Ensures compliance with OHS and Hunter policies, procedures, and practices.
• Supervision of all staff under your direct or indirect control.
• Administration duties as required to ensure daily performance is achieved.
• Ensures all resources are utilized efficiently.
• Monitor and control inventory levels, solve inventory discrepancies, conduct inventory transfers, prepare inventory overages or shortcoming reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Highschool education.
• 2-3 years in a shipping environment, preferably a warehouse setting.
• 2+ years of leading and coaching others.
• Raymond Reach, Scissor Lift and Walkie trained and certified preferred.
• Basic math and writing skills.
• Experience with Office programs such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
Physical Demands:
• Lifting to and occasionally more than 50 pounds.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Repetitive movements may be required over extended periods.
