The Opportunity:
The Marketing Coordinator – China plays a key role in executing local brand and campaign activity in the Greater Chinese market, ensuring our global marketing strategy is effectively localized and brought to life. Reporting to the APAC Marketing Manager (based in Australia), this role supports seamless integration between global direction and local needs — delivering high-impact, culturally relevant activity to support sales, events, and lead generation across the region. The role requires someone who is digitally confident, locally connected, and highly organized. Fluent in both written and verbal English and Mandarin is a requirement.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the local sales team by coordinating product sampling from marketing-related campaigns and events
- Drive local hotel group activations through platforms like WeChat and RedNote, ensuring brand alignment with global standards
- Liaise with procurement teams and event organizers (e.g. IHG Summit WeChat groups) to support fast-moving trade engagement opportunities
- Manage China-specific campaigns and support local seeding initiatives
- Assist in the planning and execution of exhibitions and key customer events, working with both internal teams and external partners as a local contact
- Ensure content is appropriately localized for language, tone, and cultural relevance while maintaining global brand integrity
- Support Sales team to ensure their leads, and customer activity is updated in HubSpot to support team visibility and campaign reporting
- Provide input and support in the creation of content and digital communications
- Collaborate regularly with the APAC Marketing Manager to ensure local activities are aligned with overarching brand and marketing strategies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- A strong grasp of the 4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion), market research, segmentation, targeting, and branding
- Proficiency in digital platforms relevant to China- WeChat, Weibo, social media, email marketing, and online advertising
- Ability to interpret and apply data from multiple sources to optimize campaign outcomes and support sales
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (written and spoken) is essential
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple local projects
- CRM experience (especially HubSpot) is preferred
- Knowledge of the hotel, luxury lifestyle, or B2B consumer goods industries is a plus
